The Thomas Bewick School Council is made up of pupils from across the primary and secondary phases who represent the ‘pupil voice’ within the school. They meet once every half term with members of the Senior Leadership Team to discuss various issues and to participate in decision making about school development. Recently the school council have led a ‘Keep Our School Tidy’ campaign and organised a poster competition to promote this message. They have also been actively involved in creating the after school club programme and continue to give ideas for fundraising activities. The school has recently been recommended by the school council for the Investing in Children Award which is a fantastic way for pupils to recognise how their views are listened to and acted upon by staff. We are very proud of how pro-active the school council are in their efforts and how they are having such a positive impact on the school.
