Foundation Stage and Primary Curriculum

Foundation stage is an integral part of our Early Years provision. Our nursery offers morning and afternoon places to children from across the city either with a diagnosis of autism or in the process of being assessed. Assessment for statementing of special educational needs is also carried out in the Foundation Stage.

The staff have many years of experience working with children with special needs and have training specifically for children with autism including PECS, TEACCH, Makaton, sensory profiling etc. The class teams are made up a teacher and 2-3 special needs assistants who are regularly supported by speech and occupational therapists and educational psychologists.
