Computing

Computing is a significant subject for pupils at Thomas Bewick School and is identified as a core subject within the National Curriculum. As computing underpins today’s modern lifestyle, it is essential that our pupils gain the confidence and ability that they need to prepare them for the challenge of a rapidly developing and changing technological world.  The use of computing will enhance and extend our pupil’s learning across the whole curriculum whilst developing motivation and social skills.  We hope to encourage our pupils to appreciate the relevance of computing in enhancing their abilities and their access to communication skills. It is important that computing is identified as an essential tool for learning, communicating, researching and for controlling and understanding our environment.  Pupils should be able to access equipment and software appropriate to meet their learning needs. At Thomas Bewick School, we feel that technology can be used to make learning enjoyable and effective.
